This is not the CFEC outage alert service
CFEC runs two separate text services, and they are not the same sign-up. Opting in to one does not opt you in to the other.
| CFEC Text Alerts | CFEC Representative Messaging (this page) |
|---|---|
| Automated broadcast alerts — outages, restoration, storm alerts, planned maintenance, cooperative news. | One-to-one conversations with the specific CFEC employee handling your service. |
| Sent from 352-493-2511. | Sent from the CFEC business number assigned to that employee. |
| Sign up by texting CFEC to 352-493-2511, or at cfec.com. | Sign up on this page. |
If you want outage and storm alerts, use the CFEC Text Alerts sign-up. If you want to be able to text back and forth with the person doing the work, use the form below. Many members want both — they are separate opt-ins.
Sign up for representative messaging
This form is used for one purpose only: enrolling your mobile number so CFEC employees can text you about work on your account.
What you will receive
- Crew arrival notices — “I am headed to your property to work on the line, I will be pulling in shortly.”
- Appointment scheduling and confirmation — setting, moving, or confirming a service visit.
- Access questions — gates, dogs, locked meters, where to park.
- Follow-up on your service request — from the representative handling it.
Messages come only from a CFEC employee working on your account. This program does not send marketing, promotional, or automated broadcast messages.
Cancel any time
Reply STOP to any message and that number is unsubscribed immediately. You can also use the opt-out form or call (352) 493-2511.
Reply HELP to any message for assistance.
Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Report an outage
This service is for talking with the employee working on your account. It is not monitored for outage reports. To report an outage, call (800) 227-1302, text OUT to 352-493-2511, or use the CFEC Outage Center.
In an emergency, call 911.
